Darth Reader (and friends)

I walked into Paytons room the other day while he was on quiet time and this is what I saw:

I turned right back around and grabbed my camera. Those are 2 of his favorite stuffed animals wearing the other masks. They're all reading Harry Potter.

Here's some pictures I took to prove that I can be a good mom. See we did a craft!!! See?? See?? If you want, click on the pictures for a "zoomed in" effect. Who's crafty? That would be me....

Bella in a Big Bed

We miss the crib. She's driving us crazy. If she's not coming out, it's Katrina crying about Bella bugging her. In her face, ripping her books.... She's constantly bothering Katrina, crying about needing a drink, her eczema, her books. "Kiki's buggin me!" "I'n itchy!" "I need a drink or somefin!" Or somefin......it's too cute. She used to start every sentence with "I don't know...."

Mom: What color is that Bella?
Bella: I don't know.....Red
Mom: And What shape is this?
Bella: I don't know.....A Circle

Now she's added an "Or Somefin" to the end of her sentences.

Mom: What color is that Bella?
Bella: I don't know.....Red or somefin?
Mom: And What shape is this?
Bella: I don't know.....A Circle or somefin?

Mom: GET BACK IN YOUR BED!!!!
Bella: Are you mad or somefin?

Katrina's New Haircut

She loves it. (Can't you tell??) Aunt Pisha is the best!

Tyson in his new bed

We finally moved him in with Payton! He likes all his new "buddies". Bella was very willing to give up her crib (now if I could only get her to stay in her bed).

My Bragging Rights

Ok, this post will sound like I'm bragging but if any of you know the pain I have gone through since Payton has started school you'll completely agree that I have every right.

Today I went to a little private awards ceremony for Paytons class. His teacher is soooooo awesome, and cute, and has just been so good to him and his "short attention span". So she's giving out awards and he gets one for "outstanding vocabulary and spelling skills" (he gets that from me) :) Then she starts giving awards to all the kids who can read over 100 words correctly in 1 minute. She's going down the list and one kid has 101, then 104, a bunch of kids are in the 120's. Then she says that the last award is a bit of a jump from the 120's (I mean I didn't want to be TOO proud but I totally knew it was him) but the number was huge!!! Are u ready for this??! 167 wpm!! I mean I knew he's always been a great reader but man alive that was incredible! (of course he gets this from me too).

He's always told me that he's the best reader in his class and we've talked about not saying things like that to the other kids. He calls it his "secret". So then he came up to me afterwards and showed me his certificate and said "See, I told you I was the best reader in the class."
Guess the secrets out :)

P.S. Katrina is also at the top of her class in reading. Geniuses I tell ya!!!

Katrina's Diary

So today was Katrina's Kindergarten graduation and her teachers gave her some gifts. One of them was a diary.

I helped her write her first entry and she has been writing in it and won't let anyone see. Which of course causes her brother to try and sneak a peek every time she leaves it on a counter, causing much screaming and tattling. Anyways, she got home from graduation and Payton picks it up and says "What's this, just a notebook?" Katrina says (in that "your so not as smart as me" tone) "It's not a notebook.....it's a diarrhea." :o

You read that right.......diarrhea. It had me laughing for some time. She keeps saying it too (apparently diary is kind of hard to say) and now Bella is playing outside with chalk singing "Diarrhea, Diarrhea".
Oh the memories we'll have :)
